Early in the morning you set off to Quiloloma, the highest point of the journey (about 4.300 m altitude). You can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding lakes and mountains that form the typical landscape of the highlands of the central Andes. In the afternoon you hike down to the Culebrillas valley and pitch up camp at the Paredones ruins. B/L/D

In the morning you follow the old Inca road to the Ingapirca ruins which are another 3-4 hours walk from the lake. A visit of the site will allow you a better understanding of Incan culture and their influence in Ecuador. The name Ingapirca means in the Quechua language stonewall of the Incas. You will see the fine stonework and characteristic trapezoidal niches and doorways. Lunch will be at a rustic countryside Posada nearby. After lunch you drive back to Quito (about 6 hours). B/L/-
